Tim Gunn has HAD IT!

"Hi everybody. Can I ask you to gather 'round?"

"I care tremendously about each and everyone of you. That's why it's time to rip into you all. You guys really need to wake the fuck up. Seriously. This is not a game here, people. This is FASHION and you are in PARSON'S SCHOOL OF DESIGN standing in the footprints of motherfucking GIANTS. Do you hear me, shitheads?"

"Daniel, you always excite me when you do that little flip with your hair, but your designs look like homemade doll clothes, except the Barbie one, which looked like sherpa summerwear. Snap out of it, Prettyboy. You're at the grownups' table now."

"Chloe, so help me God, if I see one more tiny little blue dress on Grace, I'm gonna rip my eyeballs out with an ice cream scoop. You do know there ARE other colors, right? JESUS. "

"Zulema, your clothes look like shit."

"Yeah, I know. But I never have enough time to --"

"Zip it. The judges don't give a shit and neither do I. Kara?"

"You're the only one of this sorry group who hasn't actually won a challenge. Everyone? Let's all look at Kara for a minute while she processes that sad fact."

"Santino, you are in serious jeopardy. And I reserve that comment only for you. Mainly because you are in serious jeopardy. Kiss Nina's ass. Trust me, you're lucky you still have testicles right now."

"Andrae and Nick, I have the same three words for both of you. 'TONE. IT. DOWN.' Christ, I'm as gay as a tree full of canaries, but you two bitches make Michael Kors look like Steve McQueen.

I love you all! Carry on!"

Wrapping 'em up: Santino and Kara

We're going to be nice to Santino because he tried really hard this week and he showed some humility to the judges, which was nice to see.

Unfortunately, this ain't working on any level.

To be honest, so the fuck what if Austin used the same fabric last year? Far too much was made of that in the judging process. Even if Santino knew it when he bought it, we still say "So what?" You take small groups of designers to the same retail fabric store over and over and over again, then yeah, there's a distinct possibility there's going to be some overlap in fabric choices. Especially when the garment most commonly made on PR is some sort of gown or party dress.

And really, based on the photograph, it was clear that he chose the fabric because it matched the colors in the picture perfectly. There's no need to assign any other reason to his choice.

By the way, while we can somewhat agree with Nina's assertion that "Everyone gets inspired by graffiti," she killed her own point when she helped hand the win to the guy who was inspired by a FLOWER.

Still, we hated the dress. The waist is way too high and sloppy, the skirt is, as Jay said "massivo" and she looks like she has toilet paper wrapped around her.

LOVE IT! It's 1994, we're still in our 20s, Clinton's in the Whitehouse and the economy is looking up!

Aside from making us pine for younger days, we hated this dress.

Actually, "hate" is too strong a word. We could barely raise any reaction past a "hunh?" Kara's work is usually so funky and original and this is SO derivative.

What's weird is, the dress manages to be entirely too literal while at the same time looking nothing like the thing that inspired it. Kara has such a great sense of color. She could have done a lot with that blue and orange.

But there's nothing we can say that can match The Duchess for sheer bitchiness: "A 45-minute explanation for a dress that could take 10 minutes to sew. Who cares? It's a tube dress with a piece of tape around it!"

Sometimes, you just have to bow to the master.

Precious and Poo

This is another one where we don't agree. Lorenzo likes it and Tom doesn't.

We're in agreement that conceptually, it's a fine place to start. However, Lorenzo thinks the end product was pretty and bold, while Tom thinks it looks a little precious and amateurish.

It's that overabundance of pleating and ribbons that just makes him think of square-dancing costumes. Unfairly, admittedly.

Still, the judges loved it and it is sort of plainly pretty, so Lorenzo wins that round.

We're in full agreement on this one. This was fashion poo.

His choice of inspiration was no more inspired than Zulema's. "I saw fabric and IMMEDIATELY had visions of ... a DRESS!" Poor thing was completely thrown off by the model drama, so it's hard to even judge him on this since his heart clearly wasn't in it.

We've seen the fishtail hems and lace up sandals plenty of times before from Nick. He was just phoning this one in. That skirt fabric is tacky and too-shiny. It doesn't go with the top at all.

The top itself is nice enough, but it didn't feel very young or chic. It seemed kinda blousey and matronly despite the exposed skin.

Aw, poor Nick! He was a drama queen this week, but you just want to scoop him up and tuck him in and tell him tomorrow's another day, don't you?

It's a muthaf**kin' walk-off!

Darlings, we may get a tiny amount of flack for this, but thank god for the overreactions of gay men and supermodels. Otherwise, this show would be a lot less fun.

"So Zulema, this is also a competition for the models as well, too. So you also as well have the option to choose another model too. Also, what's it gonna be?"

"I'd like to have a walk-off between the following three models: Danyelle, Tarah and Shannon."

"Girl!"

"Girl!"

"Girl!"

"Girl."

DELICIOUS, delicious drama! Darlings, we love it so. Especially when it's designer-provided. You would have thought Zulema pulled a knife out and held the models hostage the way these drama queens reacted. At the time we were like "What a BITCH!" but really, did she do anything so wrong? Every winning designer had this opportunity. The reason most of them didn't partake is because they either lucked into having good ones and/or they had good relationships with them.

Zulema and Rachael pretty much hated each other at this point. Now, a really good case could be made that the blame for that entirely rests at Zulema's feet, and we'd agree. The case could also be made that Rachael wasn't doing such a hot job so far and we'd agree with that too. Either way, Zulema had an opportunity to repair a handicap and she took it.

Y'know, they're all in the middle of an insane competition, working all day and getting little sleep, so we can understand people having emotional reactions to certain things and in a way, we don't blame them.

She didn't honestly do anything wrong, but we can understand the rest of the group not loving her at the moment. She hadn't actually built any relationships in the time she was there anyway. From the beginning, she took an overly adversarial approach to things and in the end that bit her in the ass because the group wound up turning on her for a relatively minor infraction (if it can be called that at all) and it wound up seriously throwing her off her game.

Still, it was dramaliciously high school prom committee in its maturity level and who doesn't love that? And if you want to read Zulema's thoughts on all this:

“This is an everyday occurrence, from my understanding of the business. I just switched my model. Tim Gunn and Nick went on and on about how horrible she was and they said really nasty and disparaging things about her. I never said anything nasty about my model, I just simply said [that] I need to change her," Zulema said. "She’s not good; the judges don’t like her; Tim Gunn doesn’t like her; none of the other contestants like her; so I was actually shocked when people were like, ‘Oh my god, you’re going to change models?’ Of course I am going to change models, you all agree that she is horrible, so why should I keep her?”

Andrae: Now THAT'S what we're talking about.

Hello, 911? We'd like to report a robbery.

We may have given the impression that we hate Andrae. That's not it. We think he needs to pare down the bullshit and just express himself in his work, because when he does, he really demonstrates the soul of an artist. This was a unique and beautiful inspiration that yielded a unique and beautiful dress.

If we can wax a little poetic, it has a dreamy, lyrical quality to it that up to now had not been seen in any of Andrae's designs. If he could tap into that more often, he could really be a force to be reckoned with.

Minor criticisms: we could have done without the baubles and the blue fabric was just a bit too heavy in the front. Not-so-minor criticism: the fit in the bust ain't so hot.

Aside from that, this was a uniquely beautiful garment that clearly came from a place of pure inspiration. He really should have won this one.

Seeya Shatangi!

Yow. Not even Tarah could make this look good.

We may have ragged on Daniel for having a somewhat uninspired inspiration, but for sheer lameness, nothing beats using a dress as inspiration for ... a dress.

Zulema really fell apart this week. We never really liked any of the stuff she made and there were always execution issues, but this represents a real crash and burn even for her.

Man, look at how shitty that thing is put together.

Utilizing our powers of reality television armchair psychoanalysis, we surmise that Tim's little "You guys suck" pep talk coupled with the "Let's not talk to dirty girl" kindergarten antics of the rest of the designers really threw her for a loop.

Despite her win last week, she'd been struggling throughout the competition and by this point her auf'ing before the final four seemed inevitable, but in typical Shatangi fashion, she couldn't go quietly. Oh no, she had to flame out dramatically. As we said, we were never her biggest fans, but that is one epic disaster of a dress even for her.
